Description
These belts are all made using surplus and end of line yarns so each one is a little unique in terms of its colour combinations. They are handmade in a Women’s Skills Development Centre in Pokhara, Nepal. The centre looks after women from disadvantaged backgrounds and teaches them the skills required to make these belts as well as purses, soft toys and many other fairtrade products.
Each belt is made from 100% cotton dyed using AZO free dyes with a simple brass clasp attached. The material is handwoven in a traditional way using back strap looms. Due to the use of surplus yarns each belt has different colour combinations. Please select a colour (see colours listed on photos) or select the lucky dip option if you want a surprise!
