Description
This one-of-a-kind wooden cup is turned on a self-built pole lathe by craftsman Jaz Auden in his outdoor workshop in Brittany.
A pole late is a wooden pedal-powered lathe that doesn’t require any electricity to power it, just sharp tools and strong legs!
This cherry wood cup holds approximately 125ml and is best used for cold liquids such as water or wine. This cup has not been hot water tested. Care instructions can be found below:
How to take care of a wooden cup
For the first three days before using it, you can acclimate the cup to the humidity of your home; rinse it with warm water once a day and let it air dry. After a few days, it will be ready to use.
Never pour boiling water directly into the cup, make your hot drinks in a teapot or coffee maker (if it’s too hot to drink, it’s too hot for the cup!).
If the cup is exceptionally cold, warm it slightly before pouring in very hot liquid. Similarly, if the cup is exceptionally hot, cool it before pouring in very cold liquid.
Hand wash your item in warm soapy water and air dry, do not soak or put it in the dishwasher.
Do not leave the cup in water for an extended period of time, and do not leave liquid in the cup for extended periods (overnight, for example).
There may be small, light leaks through the wood at first – this will stop with use.
This product is finished with WALNUT oil. Please consider this if purchasing for someone with any sort of nut allergy.
